I soldered them to ensure the continuity of the red wire.
Therefore, when looking at the male connector with the bump facing upwards, the + is at the left and the - at the right.
Now, look at batteries sold by adafruit

This is the opposite, the - wire is at the left.
Therefore, without surprise, the huzzah follows that convention. Actually, there is no indication on the board as of the used convention, so I guess you just have to know it.
